A transfer was reversed

Understand why a transfer came back and what it means.

Last updated June 1, 2026

A reversed transfer means the money has come back to your account after a payment could not complete.

Why a transfer reverses

  • The recipient details could not be verified.
  • The receiving bank or network declined the transfer.
  • A timeout occurred before the transfer finished.

What to do

  1. Check your transaction history to confirm the reversal landed.
  2. Review the recipient details before trying again.
  3. Make sure your connection is stable, then retry if you still want to send.

A reversal is normal and means your money is safe. You can attempt the transfer again once you have checked the details.

If the reversed amount is not showing in your balance, contact support@boldswitch.ng with the transaction reference. For related delays, see My transaction is pending (/personal/troubleshooting/transaction-pending).
