Set up two-factor authentication

2FA protects larger transfers by default. Tighten or relax the threshold to fit your business.

Last updated June 1, 2026

Two-factor authentication adds a second check to sensitive actions, especially moving money.

How it works by default

Boldswitch enforces a second factor, a biometric or an OTP, on transfers above 100,000 Naira by default. Smaller transfers go through with your usual approval.

Adjust the threshold

  1. Open Settings, then Security, then 2FA.
  2. Lower the threshold to require 2FA on every transfer, or
  3. Raise the protection to require both a biometric and an OTP above a custom amount.

Pick the setting that matches how much money your business moves day to day.

Tip: If several people can approve payments, a lower threshold is a good safeguard against mistakes and unauthorised transfers.
