Recognising scams and phishing

Spot the tricks fraudsters use and protect yourself.

Last updated June 1, 2026

The fastest way to stay safe is to remember one rule: Boldswitch never asks for your PIN or OTP.

Common scam tactics

  • Calls or messages claiming to be Boldswitch support asking for your PIN or OTP.
  • Urgent warnings that your account is blocked unless you act now.
  • Links to fake login pages designed to steal your details.
  • Offers that seem too good to be true.

How to protect yourself

  • Never share your PIN or OTP with anyone, for any reason.
  • Do not tap links in unexpected messages. Open the app directly instead.
  • Check the sender. Boldswitch communicates from official channels only.
  • Slow down. Real support will never rush or pressure you.

If you shared a code or PIN by mistake, change your PIN at once and email support@boldswitch.ng.
