Why a conversion failed

Common reasons a conversion did not go through.

Last updated June 1, 2026

If a conversion does not complete, it is usually due to one of a few common reasons.

Common causes

  1. The quote expired. The rate timer ran out before you confirmed. Request a fresh quote and confirm quickly.
  2. Insufficient balance. You do not have enough in the source currency to cover the amount plus the fee.
  3. Outside your limits. The amount is above your maximum or below the minimum for your tier.
  4. Verification needed. A higher tier may be required for the amount you are converting.

What to do

  • Check your available balance and the amount, then try again.
  • If the quote expired, start over and confirm before the timer ends.
  • If it keeps failing, contact support@boldswitch.ng with the time and amount.

Tip: Most failed conversions do not move any money. Check your balance before retrying.
