Stamp duty on transactions

What stamp duty is and when it may apply to your Boldswitch transactions.

Last updated June 18, 2026

Stamp duty is a small, government-mandated charge that applies to larger transfers.

When it applies

ConditionStamp duty
Transfers of ₦10,000 or more₦50
Transfers under ₦10,000None

Where it applies, the ₦50 is a fixed statutory amount rather than a Boldswitch fee.

How it's shown

When stamp duty applies, it appears alongside the transaction so you can see it clearly in your history.

Good to know

  • Stamp duty is set by regulation, not by Boldswitch.
  • It only applies to transfers of ₦10,000 or more — smaller transfers aren't charged.

Tip: Check your transaction details to see any stamp duty applied to a specific transfer.
