What each role can and cannot do
A quick reference for choosing the right role for each person on your team.

Use this as a quick reference when deciding which role to give someone.
Owner
The Owner has full access. Owners can move money, change every setting, manage roles and API keys, and add or remove members. Owners cannot be removed by anyone other than another Owner. Keep the number of Owners small.
Manager
A Manager runs operations and sees the full picture, including analytics, team activity and the business balance. A Manager cannot remove the Owner. Choose this role for someone who helps run the business but should not hold ultimate control.
Employee
An Employee handles payments and receipts only. They cannot see the balance, cannot move money, and cannot view analytics. Choose this role for front-line staff who take payments but should never touch the books.
Choosing a role
| If the person should... | Give them |
|---|---|
| Run everything and control access | Owner |
| Oversee operations and see analytics | Manager |
| Take payments and issue receipts only | Employee |
Tip
Default to Employee and promote only when needed. It is the safest role and keeps money and balance visibility in the fewest hands.
