FAQ – How it works?

1. What is the Boldswitch US Bank Account?

The Boldswitch US Bank Account is a checking account issued in your name through licensed US financial partners. It allows Nigerians to receive, hold, and send USD like a US resident — without needing to leave Nigeria.

2. Who is eligible?

Boldswitch offers US bank accounts to Nigerian residents who have passed our KYC (Know Your Customer) and compliance checks. Users from countries on the OFAC sanctions list or operating from excluded US states (e.g., New York, Florida) are not eligible.

3. What can I do with my US account?

  • Receive payments from US clients, employers, or platforms (e.g., PayPal, Stripe)
  • Hold funds in USD
  • Send USD to other US bank accounts
  • Link your account to digital platforms and fintech apps

4. Can I receive international (SWIFT) payments?

No. Boldswitch US accounts currently support only ACH and US domestic wires. SWIFT/international wire transfers are not accepted.

5. How do I complete verification?

You’ll be required to submit a valid government-issued ID, selfie, and in some cases, proof of address. Accepted proof of address documents (issued within the last 90 days) include:

  • Utility bill
  • Bank statement
  • Lease agreement
  • Government-issued letter

6. How do I get notified of microdeposits or verification codes?

If a platform like PayPal or Plaid sends microdeposits for verification:

  • The deposit usually arrives within 24 hours
  • A 3-letter verification code is often embedded in the transaction description

7. Can I receive third-party payments?

Yes, in the following scenarios:

  • From a registered business/employer
  • From a family member (sharing the same surname)
  • From another individual, under $2,000 (case-by-case approval)

All third-party payments are subject to compliance checks and may require supporting documentation.

8. Can I link this account to PayPal or Stripe?

Yes. You can link your Boldswitch US Bank Account to receive payouts from platforms like PayPal, Stripe, Amazon, and others that require a US bank.

9. What if my bank doesn’t recognize the routing number?

Use the following:

  • Routing Number for virtual accounts: 101019644
  • Routing Number for memo-based payments: 101206101

These are valid Lead Bank routing numbers. If needed, ask your sending bank to verify them via:

10. Who should I contact for support?

All support requests must go through Boldswitch. Do not contact the underlying bank directly. [email protected]
